Abstract

This study explores the folklore elements in the Haiku poetry of Muhammad Nawaz Tair, a prominent Pashto
poet. The research examines how Tair's Haiku reflects the cultural heritage, traditions, and values of the
Pashtun community. Through a qualitative analysis of selected Haiku, this study identifies and interprets the
folklore motifs, imagery, and themes that are embedded in his poetry. The findings suggest that Tair's Haiku
serves as a repository of Pashto folklore, preserving the community's cultural identity and shared experiences.
This study highlights the significance of Haiku as a medium for folkloric expression and its potential to promote
cross-cultural understanding.
