Abstract

 The present study aims to explore the intellectual, spiritual, ethical, and civilizational dimensions of the

Holy Qur’an in the light of the poetic thought of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, particularly his verse:

“Gar tu mī khwāhī Musalmān zīstan, Nīst mumkin juz ba Qur’ān zīstan.” This verse reflects Iqbal’s

profound conviction that the true essence of Muslim identity, revival, and continuity lies in complete

attachment to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. The research critically examines the Qur’an not

merely as a sacred religious scripture, but as a comprehensive and dynamic system of life that governs

individual character, collective morality, intellectual consciousness, social justice, and human

civilization.The study further investigates the transformative role of the Qur’an in shaping the

ideological foundations of Islamic society and highlights its universal message of guidance,

moderation, equality, knowledge, and spiritual awakening. By employing analytical and descriptive

research methodologies, the paper discusses how the decline of the Muslim Ummah is deeply

connected with intellectual and practical disengagement from Qur’anic teachings, whereas revival and

reformation are possible only through a conscious return to Qur’anic principles.

This research also evaluates the relevance of Qur’anic guidance in addressing contemporary global

challenges, including moral disintegration, materialism, social injustice, and ideological confusion.

The findings of the study affirm that the Holy Qur’an remains an eternal source of wisdom and a

complete code of life capable of guiding humanity toward peace, balance, and success in both temporal

and eternal spheres. Therefore, the study concludes that living according to the Qur’an is not only a

religious obligation for Muslims but also a prerequisite for intellectual revival and civilizational stability.
